Add-on for small formats - for more flexibility. From poster to envelopes and from letterheads to one-up business cards Printmaster QM 46 can do it all. With the new device for smaller formats QM 46 becomes even more flexible. Thus the minimal format size can be reduced from 140 x 89 mm (5 ½'' x 3 ½'', portrait format) to 100 x 100 mm (4'' x 4''). Therefore imprinting on e.g. wine labels, greeting cards or pre-printed business cards gets easier. Another advantage of this device: DL envelopes can now be printed in the landscape format.

AutoPlate – with integrated register system for both printing units. AutoPlate: Perfection Under Pressure. As the first press of its type, the Printmaster QM 46 offers AutoPlate with an integrated register system – a function that automatically takes care of drawing in the plates in precise register. This dramatically speeds up makeready – and your profits grow! You simply insert a plate – either metal or polyester – and press a button to initiate plate changing. After printing, the plate can also be automatically ejected. In fact, it only takes about 20 seconds to change plates. And because the plates are affixed without requiring you to bend their ends, it is no problem to use them repeatedly.

High-performance inking and dampening systems – with roller washup system The inking and dampening systems are a perfect team, guaranteeing fast response and excellent printing of solids. The inking system of the Printmaster QM 46 is your guarantee of excellent print quality. The laser-slit blade-type ink fountain has 15 ink zones and permits precise setting of the desired inking profile without adverse effects. Setting levers help you quickly and precisely make adjustments, in addition to taking in the set inking profile at a glance. This saves you time and ensures good-quality color. The inking and dampening units are nearly identical in both printing units (two-color model), so you can rely on obtaining equal results from them. The Dampening System: 0 % Alcohol, 100 % Quality The alcohol-free, continuous-film dampening system of the Printmaster QM 46 ensures continuously high print quality by achieving a stable ink/water balance very quickly.

Easy on-the-fly registration – without tools. Perfectly in Form The Printmaster QM 46 makes it easy for you to correct the alignment of the plate. Diagonal, circumferential and lateral register are convenient and easy to set so that you can start the run sooner. At the touch of a button, an electronically controlled positioning run is activated to position the plate cylinder exactly and unclamp the plate on the cylinder. Diagonal register is very easy to correct using a single precision setscrew. To accomplish this, the clamping bars at the rear edge of the plate are laterally shifted by up to +/- 2 mm. The circumferential register adjustment feature of the impression cylinder lets both plates be moved together by 15 mm in a forward direction or back by up to 30 mm while the press is running, and lateral register can be adjusted at the feeder by +/- 2.5 mm. If necessary, the plates can then also be additionally aligned with one another by adjusting circumferential and lateral register on the second printing unit on-the-fly.

Automatic blanket wash-up device - easy and comfortable wash-up at the push of a button.
All QM 46 two-color presses have a standard wash-up system which can be programmed from the operation panel. At the push of a button the blanket is automatically cleaned and the machine is ready for the next job. As the wash-up system works very economically and the wash-up solution can be used with one dampening felt several times, costs are reduced to a minimum. After the washing procedure the blanket is turned a few times for drying, so that even the first sheets show best results.

Smooth sheet delivery - with capacitive sensor controlled pile transportation and delivery fans. The mechanical downward movement of the delivery pile is controlled by a capacitive sensor and is independent from the upward movement of the feeder pile. The delivery is equipped with sheet guides and swing-off joggers in order to achieve exact sheet delivery and unscratched paper. Two delivery fans ensure a high production speed and exact pile formation. They are individually adjustable via a potentiometer and can be set optimally to various stocks.
